Elizabeth Hobbs ist Gewinnerin des 3-monatigen Artists-in-Residence-Stipendiums (in Zusammenarbeit mit dem quartier21/MQ Wien) des Tricky Women-Festivals 2008 für ihren Film The Old, Old, Very Old Man. Hier in Wien arbeitet sie am Trailer für Tricky Women 2010.
She is an animator based in East London. She trained as an illustrator at Edinburgh College of Art, and on graduating in 1991, began publishing small editions of her own artist’s books and prints. She began making films in 1998 whilst undertaking a postgraduate degree at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. She has made many award winning animated films under the name Spellbound Animation. These include The Emperor 2001), The Witches (2002), The True Story of Sawney Beane (2005) and The Old, Old, Very Old Man (March 2007).
