Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of animated documentaries at this one-of-a-kind workshop! Led by renowned filmmaker duo Akile Nazlı Kaya and Tomáš Doruška, whose works have been featured at top film festivals like Annecy, IDFA, and BAFTA, you'll learn the ins and outs of combining animation and documentary in film-making. This is a hands-on experience where you'll gain practical skills in concrete filmmaking and stop-motion animation techniques.
The workshop aims to introduce documentary filmmakers, animators, illustrators, photographers and artists in general. To give you inspiration, we will present a selection of shorts that uniquely uses analogue techniques such as using simple drawing and scratching techniques, you will have the opportunity to animate directly onto the printed frames of the documentary footage. While exploring various possibilities of this unique medium, our main focus will be “experimenting with a fusion of creative methods”.
Participants can also work with multi-touch animation tables, that were especially designed for the ZOOM Children’s Museum.
