The Call for Festival edition 2026 is now closed.

The Call for Entries 2027 will open in June 2026.

 

 

Submissions of animated films and/or virtual reality works for Tricky Women Tricky Realities are possible via FilmFreeway. We can’t wait to see your latest bold, visionary animated films and VR/MR works.

Tricky Women Tricky Realities offers an international competition for animated short films created by women and/or gender-queer artists and completed after January 1, 2024\. Multiple films may be submitted. Films that have already been submitted to previous Tricky Women Tricky Realities festivals are not eligible.

We dedicate a separate competition category to animated works in the field of Virtual & Mixed Reality (VR & MR). In cooperation with XR Austria, we are looking for artistically innovative projects that immerse us deeply in virtual worlds.
